What are Amazon FBA disposal fees?

The Amazon FBA disposal fee is a fee Amazon charges when sellers choose to dispose of unsellable or slow-moving items in Amazon warehouses. This fee is charged per unit and is based on the item’s size and weight.

Below is a detailed analysis from Weefreight that we hope will be helpful.

Standard-sized items:

For 0 to 0.5 lbs, the disposal fee is $1.04 per unit.

For 0.5 to 1.0 lbs (excluding 0.5 lbs), the disposal fee is $1.53 per unit.

For 1.0 to 2.0 lbs (excluding 1.0 lbs), the disposal fee is $2.27 per unit.

For items weighing more than 2 lbs, the disposal fee is $2.89 per unit plus $1.06 per pound above 2 lbs.

Large, oversized, and special handling items:

For 0 to 1.0 lbs, the disposal fee is $3.12 per unit.

For 1.0 to 2.0 lbs (excluding 1.0 lbs), the disposal fee is $4.30 per unit.

For 2.0 to 4.0 lbs (excluding 2.0 lbs), the disposal fee is $6.36 per unit.

For 4.0 to 10.0 lbs (excluding 4.0 lbs), the disposal fee is $10.04 per unit.

For units over 10.0 lbs, the disposal fee is $14.32 per unit plus $1.06 per pound over 10 lbs.

The FBA disposal fee is calculated when the disposal order is submitted and charged when the shipment leaves an Amazon fulfillment center. Sellers can view removal order details and download a spreadsheet to learn about specific disposal fees through the Inventory and Sales Reports in Amazon’s backend data.
