Different international express companies have different overweight and oversize charge rates for oversized shipments.
In this article, Weefreight will share the charge rates of some common express companies, which we hope will be helpful for your reference.
SF Express International:
Overweight and Overlong Shipments (Tier 1): Shipments within a shipment that meet the “Tier 1” charge rate are charged a flat rate of 260 RMB per piece. For example, for International Standard Express shipments to 60 countries in the Americas, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, this applies if the package dimensions meet the criteria of 300 cm < length + 2 × (height + width) ≤ 400 cm, and the longest side is ≤ 274 cm, and the package weight is > 70 kg. Specific size and weight limits vary by region and service type. For example, for International Standard Express shipments to Singapore, Tier 1 charges apply if the individual dimensions meet the requirements of 200 cm < Length ≤ 250 cm, 80 cm < Width ≤ 150 cm, or 70 cm < Height ≤ 150 cm, and the single-piece chargeable weight meets the requirement of 70 kg < Weight ≤ 130 kg.
Tier 2 Charges for Oversized and Overweight Shipments: For shipments within a single shipment that meet the “Tier 2 Charges,” there is no fixed rate; rates are negotiated on a case-by-case basis. For International Standard Express shipments to the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, or Argentina, Tier 2 charges apply if the individual dimensions meet the requirements of Length + 2 × (Height + Width) > 400 cm, with a maximum of 110 × 110 × 145 cm on all three sides (no charge applies for any dimensions exceeding the limit), and the single-piece chargeable weight meets the requirement of 71 kg < 2000 kg.
FedEx:
Additional Service Fee: Packages exceeding 121 cm (39.5 in) on the longest side, 76 cm (20.5 in) on the second longest side, 266 cm (12.5 in) on the length and girth (length + width × 2 + height × 2), or weighing more than 25 kg (25 kg) will be subject to an additional service fee, subject to the 18 kg minimum billable weight.
Oversized Shipment Fee: Packages exceeding 243 cm (39.5 in) on the length and girth (length + width × 2 + height × 2) will be subject to an oversized surcharge. The minimum billable weight for the “Additional Handling Surcharge – Dimensions” is 18 kg.
Non-Conventional Package Surcharge: Packages exceeding any of the following dimensions or weight limits will be subject to an additional service fee: longest dimension exceeding 274 cm; length and girth (length + width × 2 + height × 2) exceeding 419 cm; or weighing more than 68 kg (25 kg).
Heavy Package Surcharge: A Heavy Package Surcharge will be charged for each Heavy Package unit if any of the following dimensions or weight limits are exceeded: longest side exceeds 302 cm; length and girth (length + width × 2 + height × 2) exceed 762 cm; actual weight exceeds 1995 kg.
DHL: If the actual weight or volume of a single unit is 70 kg or greater, an additional RMB 200 will be charged.
UPS:
Large Package Surcharge: Effective August 17, 2025, packages with a cubic volume greater than 17,280 cubic inches (approximately 0.28 cubic meters) or a weight greater than 110 pounds (approximately 49.9 kg) will be subject to a LPS fee. LPS fees are tiered based on package type and delivery distance. If the combined length and girth (2 x width + 2 x height) of a package exceeds 300 cm but does not exceed the UPS maximum size of 400 cm, it is considered a “Large Package.” The minimum chargeable weight for Large Packages is 40 kg, and an additional fee of 467 RMB per package is charged.
Overweight and Overlength Fees: The maximum weight, length, and dimensions of each package are 70 kg, 274 cm, and 400 cm (length + girth) per package. If UPS receives a package exceeding these weights and dimensions, an Overweight and Overlength Fee of 1,384 RMB will be charged for each package.
