The procedures required for air freight from China to the UAE mainly include document preparation and cargo packaging. Please see the detailed instructions provided by Weefreight below, which we hope will be helpful.
Document Preparation
Import and Export Contract: This document records the rights and obligations of the buyer and seller, including information such as the quantity, quality, price, payment terms, and delivery time of the goods. It is a fundamental document for international trade.
Packing List: This document details the name, quantity, weight, and volume of the goods and is completed during the loading process.
Air Waybill: This document is a transport document that serves as a receipt for the goods and a transport contract. It contains information such as the consignee, consignor, quantity, quality, freight, and insurance.
Invoice: This document is issued by the seller to the buyer as proof of delivery of goods or services. It should contain detailed information about the goods, including quantity, quality, price, and payment terms.
Certificate of Origin: A document issued by the government or chamber of commerce of the exporting country certifying the origin of goods. In some cases, the destination country/region may require a certificate of origin for entry.
Transport Insurance Policy: If the goods are insured, you will need to provide the transport insurance policy to ensure the safety of the goods during transportation.
Customs Declaration: A document required for import and export of goods, recording information such as the quantity, quality, and value of the goods, is an essential document throughout the entire import and export process.
Other Procedures
Cargo Packaging: Ensure that the packaging of the goods meets air transport requirements. Provide appropriate reinforcement based on the characteristics of the goods (such as fragile items, liquids, etc.) to minimize transportation losses.
Declaring Special Cargo: If transporting special goods such as electronics, food, or cosmetics, additional documentation may be required. For example, electronics require a certificate of conformity, food requires a hygiene certificate and ingredient analysis sheet, and cosmetics must comply with GSO conformity assessment standards. For regulated goods, you will also need to apply for an import license in advance.
Understand customs regulations: Familiarize yourself with customs laws in both China and the UAE. Learn the lists of prohibited and restricted items to avoid shipping illegal items. Also, understand UAE tariff policies to determine whether you’ll need to pay customs duties and related fees.
