International express shipping can handle a wide variety of goods, mainly divided into two categories: general goods and special goods. It is crucial to strictly comply with the customs regulations of each country and the transportation terms of the express service provider to avoid illegal transportation.
I. General Goods (No special restrictions, can be shipped normally)
General goods refer to items that do not involve dangerous or sensitive materials, are stable in nature, and have no special transportation requirements. This is the most common category in international express shipping.
Daily necessities and household goods: Such as clothing, shoes, bedding, kitchenware, small home appliances (non-battery type), furniture accessories, etc. As long as these items are properly packaged and meet the size and weight requirements, they can be shipped normally.
Electronic products (non-sensitive): Such as ordinary data cables, earphones, chargers (without built-in batteries), computer peripherals, small office equipment, etc. Care should be taken to provide anti-pressure and anti-static protection during packaging.
Commercial and industrial supplies: Such as ordinary hardware fittings, plastic products, textiles, stationery, toys, non-hazardous chemical raw materials, etc., suitable for bulk transportation by cross-border e-commerce companies and trading companies.
Personal items and gifts: Such as personal belongings, holiday gifts, handicrafts, etc. When mailing personal items, attention should be paid to declaring the value to avoid exceeding the reasonable scope of personal use.
II. Special Goods (Require prior approval and must meet specific transportation conditions)
Due to their special nature, special goods require approval from the express service provider and require specific packaging and transportation measures. Some categories also require relevant qualification documents.
Products with batteries: Such as mobile phones, laptops, tablets, smartwatches, power banks, and other products with built-in or accompanying batteries. These goods must meet aviation transportation battery safety standards, such as UN38.3 certification. Some express channels can handle these, but confirmation is required in advance.
Magnetic products: Such as speakers, motors, magnets, etc. Magnetic items may affect aviation safety and require magnetic inspection. Transportation is only permitted after confirming that the magnetic field strength meets transportation standards. Liquids and Pastes: Such as cosmetics (toners, lotions, creams), toiletries, food sauces, and industrial oils. These items require sealed packaging to prevent leakage. Some flammable and corrosive liquids are prohibited from shipping, and for ordinary non-hazardous liquids, you need to confirm in advance whether the courier service accepts them.
Powdered Items: Such as milk powder, protein powder, cosmetic powders, and industrial powders. A component analysis report is required to prove that they are not hazardous materials, and leak-proof packaging is necessary.
Food and Health Products: Such as snacks, dried goods, tea, and health supplements. Ensure that the items are not spoiled and have sufficient shelf life. Some countries have strict restrictions on food imports (such as meat and egg products), so you need to understand the customs regulations of the destination country in advance.
Medicines: Small quantities of ordinary over-the-counter medicines (such as cold medicine and stomach medicine) can be shipped, but the original packaging and instructions must be retained; prescription drugs, psychotropic drugs, and narcotic drugs are prohibited from shipping. Some countries have strict qualification requirements for drug imports.
Oversized/Overweight Goods: Such as large furniture, machinery, and industrial parts. These goods require specialized international express or logistics channels. Confirm size and weight limits and transportation costs in advance.
III. Prohibited Goods (Absolutely Not Allowed to Ship)
All international express channels explicitly prohibit the transportation of the following categories. Strictly avoid shipping these items; otherwise, you may face confiscation of goods, fines, or even legal liability.
Dangerous Goods: Such as explosives, flammable materials (gasoline, alcohol, lighters), corrosive substances (strong acids, strong alkalis), toxic substances, and radioactive materials.
Contraband: Such as firearms and ammunition, controlled knives, drugs, smuggled goods, counterfeit and shoddy products, and goods that infringe on intellectual property rights.
Restricted Import Items: Such as animals and plants and their products, cultural relics, precious metals, and currency that are prohibited from import by some countries. Check the specific regulations of the destination country in advance.
